Munster pulled off an incredible escape with the final play of the game giving them a 1 point win over Perpignan at the Stade Aime Giral.

Perpignan looked to have pulled off their own late win, scoring a try with just 2 minutes left to go 6 points clear as the clock ticked over to red. JJ Hanrahan proved to be Munster’s hero as he crossed in the corner following a darting run down the right wing. The decision went to TMO before referee JP Doyle awarded Munster one the most dramatic tries of their recent history.

Perpignan led 9-3 at half-time thanks to 3 penalties from Tommy Allan. Ian Keatley endured a disappointing opening 40, hitting one from three from the boot.

Penalties fro Keatley and Allan poised the game for a dramatic finish and when Benvenuti scored the late try for Perpignan it looked like Munster had fallen to a cruel defeat until Hanrahan raced to the line for an almost unbelievable 18-17 win.
