Munster are out of the Heineken Cup despite a brave display in the south of France.

A Simon Zebo try in the second half was not enough and Rob Penney’s side lost 24-16 to Toulon in the semi-final at the Stade Velodrome in Marseille.

Zebo scored the only try of the game, while Ian Keatley kicked the rest of Munster's points. A yellow card for Keith Earls in the final 15 minutes made a tall order near to impossible. Heavy pressure, even with 14 men, almost broke through for a second try but Toulon's experience shone through and repelled the Munster waves of attack.

Toulon did enough to claim victory, however, with Johnny Wilkinson kicking 21 points during the game.

Toulon will now face Saracens in the final.
