A 2006 souvenir photo of Jose Mourinho at a Barcelona hotel has ended up being admitted as evidence in a mafia murder trial.
Mafia boss Cesare Pagano and associates were found guilty of murder, after they were accused of killing another man, Carmine Amoruso, in Naples on March 5th 2006.
Eyewitnesses evidence had placed Pagano at the scene on that date. But it seems that they were in Spain on the day he was alleged to have killed Amoruso.
Pagano and two of his associates were photographed next to Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho and some Blues players including Frank Lampard and Hernan Crespo, when the team were in the city for a Champions League tie.
The photo was published in an Italian newspaper and could exonerate Pagano.
