Chelsea have been knocked out of the Capital One Cup on penalties by Stoke City to add to the run of bad news for manager Jose Mourinho.

The Blues came into the game under pressure and went 1-0 down in tonight's fourth round tie when Stoke and Ireland striker Jon Walters scored an excellent goal.

But Loic Remy equalised for Chelsea on 90 minutes, before a red card for Stoke defender Phil Bardsley.

The game eventually went to penalties Eden Hazard missing Chelsea's fifth and final kick to lose 5-4 in the shootout.

Everton also advanced past Norwich on penalties and Leicester also lost to Hull City in the same way in tonight's other games.
