Mercedes F1 team boss Toto Wolff says he is not worried by Lewis Hamilton's fall-out with the media.

The three-time world champion refused to speak to journalists after qualifying at the Japanese Grand Prix.

That came after he was accused of being disrespectful over his behaviour at the pre-race news conference when he played on his phone.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Wolff said: "First of all, it's clear that the media needs to produce headlines and it goes both directions. You're being built up, then you're being dropped.

"With Lewis he had a couple of tough weekends and yesterday's news has no value at all. If he recovers and has a good weekend in Austin he is the hero again. That's why I'm pretty relaxed about what's written in the newspapers."

Reigning champion Hamilton trails Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg in the title race by 33 points with four races and 100 points to play for.
