McLaren F1 boss Ron Dennis has described former counterpart and Sky Sports pundit Eddie Jordan a "village idiot".

It comes after the ex-head of Jordan F1 criticised the under-pressure Dennis following a very poor start to the season for the previously successful McLaren team, who notched their first point of the campaign thanks to Fernando Alonso at this weekend's British Grand Prix.

But speaking to Sky Sports F1, Dennis hit back at Jordan saying: "I consider Formula 1 a family, and families live in villages. And villages always have a village idiot. He fits the bill perfectly."
