Aiden Mc Geady is out of Irelands squad to face Wales in next week's friendly in Cardiff.
The winger picked up a knee injury while training with Spartak Moscow. It comes as talk of a switch to Everton intensifies.
He is the latest player to pull out of the squad. Goalkeeper David Forde was ruled out on Tuesday, while Anthony Pilkington's status as a "player yet to be capped by Ireland" continues for another month at least after a knee injury.
