Everton manager Roberto Martinez has insisted that he will not rush James McCarthy back into his starting side but says that the club are now confident that they have discovered the root cause of his injury problems.
The Ireland midfielder has missed almost two months of the current season with a hamstring injury that also kept him out of Ireland's Euro 2016 qualifiers against Scotland and Germany.
"He has a bit of a peculiar profile for a midfielder. He's more of a sprinter than a normal midfielder who just carries some sort of stamina. He's a sprinter and those players need extra care," said Martinez.
