Tonight at Vicar Street, Robbie Fowler and Jason McAteer were pondering why they could not manage to get a league medal to their name during the 90s.

The former Liverpool lads were a great double act on Off The Ball and Trigger was perplexed about his lack of trophies, stating that "Scooby Doo wouldn't sort out that mystery".

The banter was flying with McAteer telling Fowler that his nose was getting as big as fellow Liverpool great Phil Thompson as he made an uncharacteristically positive statement about ex-Reds manager Gerard Houllier.

God and Trigger also drew some parallels between the current high-flying Liverpool side and the team they played with.

But Fowler does not believe that the current Reds side are a one-season wonder and heaped praise on Brendan Rodgers.

He also played down the idea that Chelsea's so-called Mourinho masterclass against Liverpool on Sunday was a "myth" and McAteer said he would have loved to have gone "right through" Ashley Cole because of his time-wasting at Anfield.

McAteer and Fowler also argued about their international accolades with the lads mocking each other's achievements and the former Ireland man branded the European Championships as a half-World Cup:

McAteer also revealed that he got an offer from Serie A side Sampdoria and Fowler also explained why he turned down approaches from this year's Champions League finalists Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid.
