MAYO's Grace Kelly has capped off a superb run in the TG4 All-Ireland Senior Championship qualifiers with her county by winning the Croke Park/LGFA Player of the Month award for July.

The 25-year-old forward is currently gearing up for Mayo’s All-Ireland Senior Championship semi-final against Galway at Croke Park on Sunday week.

Kelly was in excellent form throughout the All-Ireland Senior Championship qualifiers in July.

Mayo bounced back from their Connacht Final replay defeat at the hands of Galway to qualify for the knock-out stages of the All-Ireland series.

In Mayo’s first Group 4 outing against Tyrone Kelly scored 1-3, including two pointed frees, as Peter Leahy’s team claimed a crucial 3-14 to 3-11 victory over the hosts at Healy Park in Omagh.

The Moy Davitts club woman followed that up with a haul of 8 points, including four pointed frees, in a player-of-the-match display against the Ulster Champions, Donegal, in Tullamore.

Those victories saw Mayo finish at the summit of Group 4 which saw the 2017 Finalists advance to play Armagh in the quarter-finals.

Grace Kelly gearing up to face Galway again

Last Saturday, at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park in Longford, Kelly was influential again as she contributed two points in a three-point victory over the Orchard County.

That was enough to see Mayo through to the last four of the competition, and a repeat meeting with old rivals Galway who defeated Waterford to reach the semi-finals.

Mayo, captained by Kelly’s sister Niamh, will take on Galway on August 25 at Croke Park.

That game, which will throw-in at 2pm, is the first game of a mouth-watering semi-final double-bill.

Reigning All-Ireland Senior Champions Dublin are set to meet the NFL Division 1 holders Cork at 3.45pm, in what is a repeat of the 2018 All-Ireland Senior Final.

Dublin defeated Kerry while Cork saw off the challenge of Tyrone in their respective last-eight clashes.
