The Marussia Formula One team have been placed in administration.

The team will miss this weekend's US Grand Prix in Texas.

It is the second F1 team to enter administration in a matter of days after Caterham were given special dispensation to miss the next two GPs while a buyer is sought.

Marussia have endured a difficult period in recent weeks following the accident suffered by their driver Jules Bianchi at the Japanese Grand Prix, with the Frenchman still in hospital with a serious head injury.
