Martin Skrtel's departure from Liverpool has been confirmed as the defender is headed to the Turkish league.

A post on the official Fenerbahce site stated that Skrtel's move had been confirmed and that the player has already met with his new team-mates.

Skrtel, who has made over 240 appearances for the Anfield club since joining from Zenit St. Petersburg in 2008, is the second experienced defender to leave the team in this window, after the latter became a free agent.

Meanwhile, it looks as though Jordon Ibe may also be on his way out the door at Anfield as a £15 million fee has been agreed between Liverpool and Bournemouth for the player's transfer.

Talks are believed to be getting underway between the player and the club on Thursday, in what could be a move that suits the 20-year-old as he looks for more first-team football in the Premier League.

Earlier on Thursday, it was revealed that Liverpool are preparing to back manager Jurgen Klopp with a contract extension, less than nine months after he joined the club.
