Ireland boss Martin O'Neill has revised his provisional 37-man squad down to 28 for the qualifying matches against Gibraltar and Georgia in September, and has brought in two uncapped players.

Adam Rooney has been in great goal scoring form for Aberdeen, with his four goals in five games helping Aberdeen to second in the Scottish Premier League, while Eunan O'Kane has looked reassured and confident at the highest level in some tough tests in the Premier League to date.

Rooney's hot streak has continued from last season, when he claimed the Golden Boot in the SPL, while Kevin Doyle's form with the Colorado Rapids in Major League Soccer has also seen him make the final panel.

The team in full is:

Defenders

Seamus Coleman (Everton), Cyrus Christie (Derby County), John O’Shea (Sunderland), Marc Wilson (Stoke City), Richard Keogh (Derby County), Ciaran Clark (Aston Villa), Stephen Ward (Burnley), Robbie Brady (Norwich City), Alex Pearce (Derby County), Paul McShane (Reading).
