A simple explanation of what follows in video form-

Manchester United, in an Indonesian pop video with a  weak storyline based around the lives of several Mancunians, including a tardy commercial airline pilot (and not just any commercial airline) and a self-pitying busker.

For some context on this odd marriage, the official Manchester United website offers some clues about the roots of it all- “a collaboration between Mister Potato, Manchester United and Nidji- Indonesia’s leading music band.” Mister Potato is a brand of crisps, in case you don't get that from the name, or suspiciously large amount of crisps eaten in the video.

This one is irritating, in a lot of ways. It's the kind of irritating that starts to cross over in to infuriating the more you think about it or spend time in its company. But go with it for now anyway, because it is also entertaining.

First though, a few questions regarding this significant cultural artefact

Primary query

What happened to football?

Secondary queries

Does Rooney know what's going on? He looks a bit lost in the moment.

This is really just a 4 minute ad for Manchester United PLC and its sponsors, isn't it? Why is anyone pretending otherwise? Fair enough if there's a bit of product placement in the odd chunk of pop culture, but I mean...Jesus, lads...brazen, that's only word for it- brazen.

Who wrote this song? Terrible.
