Manchester City are facing life without Yaya Toure for the remainder of this season.
The Ivorian midfielder limped off against Liverpool yesterday with a knee complaint.
City manager Manuel Pellegrini did not hide his concern after the game, saying: "It will be difficult for Yaya Toure to finish playing this season."
Toure will be a huge miss for City as they look to swing back momentum in the title race, following the 3 - 2 defeat to Liverpool.
He is City's top scorer in the Premier League this season with 18 goals, while the 30-year-old has also added five assists.
It is unclear whether the injury also jeopardizes his hopes of playing at this summer's World Cup where he would be a key player for Ivory Coast.
