Guinea have claimed the last place in the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations in unusual circumstances.

They have been successful at the expense of Mali via a drawing of lots.

The two sides ended with an identical record in Group D behind Ivory Coast.

Guinea will now play Ghana in the last-8.

Ireland also experienced the drawing of lots at the end of the group stage at Italia 90.
