Connacht and Leinster are both celebrating wins this evening.

Three first half penalties from Ian Madigan, and three in the second from Jimmy Gopperth gave Leinster an 18-12 win over the Ospreys at the RDS.

At half-time, the score stood at 9-9, with Sam Davies scoring three penalties for the visitors.

There was some reshuffling for Leinster, with Isaac Boss and Mike McCarthy withdrawing due to illness in the first-half, while Gordon D'Arcy replaced Madigan at the break.

Ospreys looked set to sneak ahead with a try from Aisea Natoga early in the second half, but the home team surely breathed a sigh of relief when it was disallowed.

Ultimately, it was the closest either team would get to a try. It was a further trio of penalties - this time from Gopperth - that would seal the win for Leinster.

It was Davies again with the only second half points for Ospreys.

Leinster face off against Harlequins at Twickenham Stoop next Sunday in the Champions Cup.

Penalties also decided the result at the Sportsground, where Connacht won by six points against Scarlets.

The Welsh team got a head start thanks to a Steve Shingler penalty in the first minute. It was followed two minutes later by a try from Harry Robinson.

Connacht could only muster a penalty - courtesy of Jack Carty - in the first half, leaving them trailing with 3 points to 8 at the break.

They came out fighting in the second, however, and prevented Scarlets from scoring any more points.

Two more penalties from Carty and a 48th minute try from Matt Healy put the Irish team ahead, with a final score of Connacht 14-8 Scarlets.

Bayonne will travel to the Sportsground next Saturday.
