Liverpool have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Southampton's Dejan Lovren.

The Croatian defender is now set to undergo a medical with the club over the weekend after Southampton accepted a bid of around £20 million.

The 25-year-old defender, who joined the Saints from Lyon last summer, will become the most expensive defender in Liverpool history once the deal is completed.

He will also become the third Southampton player to move to Anfield this summer, following Adam Lallana and Rickie Lambert.
