Julio Grondona, the long-time head of Argentine football, has passed away aged 82 following a heart attack.
He had been President of the Argentine FA since 1979 and his death brings his 35-year presidency to an end.
Under his leadership Argentina have reached three World Cup finals, winning in 1986.
However, he has had a strained relationship with Argentina legend Diego Maradona who aimed a rude gesture at him during a TV appearance after Grondona reportedly referred to him as a "jinx" during the recent World Cup.
Grondona, who was also a FIFA vice-President had announced his decision to step down at the end of his term in 2015.
