Liverpool have announced plans to set up an academy in India.
The country of one billion people is one of the last bastions where football has never taken a firm hold.
The Premier League club have linked up with Indian team DSK Shivajians from Pune to set up a permanent academy for young players.
It will open its doors in January 2014 and coaches from Liverpool will lend assistance in its running.
The academy complex will feature full-size pitches, classrooms, a gym, canteen, lecture theatre and medical facilities.
