The film adaptation of 'Fifty Shades of Grey' has already made $240m (€210m) at the box office, so one can hardly argue its success. But does it really capture the spirit of the book?

Director Sam Taylor-Johnson's interpretation is full of whips, chains and blindfolds - but one Czech YouTube user has taken a different, more subtle approach to the novel.

A the time of writing his video has 9,214 thumbs-up v 1,118 thumbs-down on YouTube. As a percentage that's 89 per cent approval, far above the 26 per cent rating the film holds on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes - thus making it indisputably better.
