Limerick are through to the All Ireland hurling semi-final. Three first half goals were the backbone of a performance that put an end to Wexford’s recent revival with a merciless efficiency.
The goals came from David Breen and Shane Dowling with a brace, and at that point, shortly before the end of the first half, the game was over as a contest.
Paul Browne then netted early in the second half on the way to a final score of 4-26 to 1-11. Wexford’s afternoon of misery was compounded as full-back Matthew O’Hanlon was sent off late on.
