Manchester United are still awaiting their first win of the new Premier League season after being held to a 1-1 draw at Sunderland.

In what was an underwhelming performance from United, Juan Mata gave Louis Van Gaal’s side the lead on 17 minutes, arguably against the run of play.

Jack Rodwell drew Sunderland level on the half hour mark and Sunderland might regret that was all they could take from the game.

Both sides lacked the ambition or conviction to finish the game off
