With James McCarthy ruled out through injury and Shane Duffy suspended, Martin O'Neill will be making up his mind about how his Ireland starting XI will look like against Serbia.

The clash on Monday is important in terms of giving the Boys in Green a launchpad into an intruiging 2018 World Cup qualifier group.

Off The Ball co-presenter and ex-Ireland winger Kevin Kilbane had his own thoughts on the team he would field in Belgrade.

"The team that I would actually play: I've got Darren Randolph in goal, across the back four, it's Seamus Coleman if fit, [Richard] Keogh, [Ciaran] Clark as centre-halves. I'd actually go with Stephen Ward left-back," he said.

"Glenn Whelan would be the base of midfield. Ahead of him in a three-man midfield would be Jeff Hendrick and Harry Arter [and] I'd go with Robbie Brady, Shane Long and Jon Walters up front in a three.

"You could go with the diamond where you could bring Robbie Brady in behind Long and Walters or you could actually make it like a 4-3-3 come 4-5-1 when you don't have possession."
