Kenya face the possibility of being banned from this summer's Olympics in Rio - after missing a World Anti-Doping Agency deadline to prove it's tackling its drugs problem in sport.

The African country has been referred to an "independent compliance process" for evaluation. WADA could end up declaring Kenya "non-compliant" with its anti-doping code.

Kenya won 11 medals at London 2012 including two gold medals. All 11 medals were won in athletics events including David Rudisha's World Record in the 800 metres.

The news comes as a further blow to this summer's Olympic Games. Russian track and field athletes are provisionally banned from the games but still may compete in Brazil.

Despite Kenya's issues, it would be down to the International Olympic Committee to decide whether to ban Kenya from the Rio Games.
