Former Galway hurler Brian Hanley says people in the county would love to see star man Joe Canning deployed at full-forward.

The Tribesmen take on Dublin in the Leinster championship and describing the Portumna clubman as the "go-to man", Hanley told Off The Ball that he would like to see him at the sharp end of play.

"Joe Canning is the go-to man and whether they play Joe centre-forward or midfield or full-forward, I'd personally like to see him in full-forward and I think a lot of people in Galway would because that's his most dangerous position and he's your go-to man. But having said that, there's other players that have got to step up to the plate," he said.

Eoin Kelly also joined us for our match preview and he believes the Dubs' recent record against Galway means they will have nothing to fear.

But the ex-Tipp corner-forward highlighted weaknesses in the Galway spine from his experience of playing them last year.

"I think it was the spine of their team. We created space in our forward line and we just ran at them, straight through the middle and the spine of their team just wasn't there," he said.
