Jonathan Sexton will miss Ireland's World Cup quarter final against Argentina on Sunday afternoon.

The news broke on Saturday afternoon, with the Irish camp confirming that Ian Madigan will start in place of the injured Sexton, with Paddy Jackson making the bench.

Doubts had been cast over the fitness of the 30-year-old earlier this week, but was today ruled out over fitness concerns.

Ireland take on Argentina on Sunday at 1pm at the Millennium Stadium.
