Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is back in the Premier League for the first time since he retired as a player.
But the Manchester United legend has chosen to become Cardiff City manager despite plenty of offers from clubs with more stability when it comes to the whims of the owner.
Leeds great John Giles joined us on the show tonight and he does not think Vincent Tan will behave more favourably towards the Norwegian than he has to previous manager Malky Mackay or the fans' sensibilities.
Based on Tan's recent actions, John is not optimistic that Solskjaer's stay at Cardiff City will end well.
"As Malky Mackay found out, it is very difficult to work with [Vincent Tan]. He wasn't very good to Mackay and I don't think he is going to change his ways and won't change his attitude with Solskjaer either. I wouldn't be surprised if that ended in tears," said John.
Meanwhile on Match of the Day last night, ex-Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann branded Yaya Toure a "liability" for Man City in relation to his defensive work in a two-man midfield.
John agrees wholeheartedly with that assertion about the Ivorian and also feels more pundits should be braver about criticizing players.
"[Hamann] does have a point. Toure is a very talented player and he does contribute a lot to Man City. He's scored quite a few goals. But I've seen him a few times where he's not tracking back. There's no reason why he shouldn't work hard in the middle of the field as well as scoring his goals."
Chelsea's out-of-favour attacking midfielder Juan Mata's frustration was palpable when he was subbed off against Southampton yesterday and John reckons the Spaniard's time at the club is drawing to a close.
"It looks like it. Once it gets to the stage where he's objecting to being subbed, then it's usually the end of the line. Mourinho also said that he's not going to hold the player if he wants to go. I can understand Mata's point of view. I think he should be in the Chelsea team," said John.
Thursday Night Football also saw John analyse Manchester United's problems after the latest home defeat to Tottenham, while last night's winners were also under the microscope.
