Limerick football manager John Brudair has stepped aside from his position with the county, after not opting to go forward with the team.

The incumbent manager decided to call time on his career with the county spanning back to 2013, after a rather short-lived football championship.

The Treaty County were beaten by Clare in the opening round of this year's Munster championship. They then beat Antrim in the first round of the qualifiers before exiting again at the hands of fellow Munster side Cork.

"John Brudair has informed CLG Coiste Contae Luimní today that he will not be going forward for another term as Limerick Senior Football Manager," the Limerick County board said in a statement today.

"John has given sterling service to Limerick Football over the past three seasons.

"CLG Coiste Contae Luimní and Coiste Peil Luimní would like to thank John and his Management team for their dedication to Limerick Football.

"We would like to wish John, his Management team and their families to very best in the future."

Limerick were also relegated this year to Division 4 after a winless Division 3 campaign.
