The stunning actress bares her body for her role as alien seductress Laura in upcoming thriller flick Under the Skin.

Despite being praised for her killer curves and looks, Scarlett admits she was nervous at first about being exposed. However, once she embraced the lack of clothes, she found it easier to get into character and also learnt more about herself.

"The nudity is written into the script and I think, I hope the audience agrees, that it's... it's not really indulgent. It's almost, I don't know, sort of like biological in a weird way I think. There's a lot of intention behind it. I'm not a nudist by nature," Scarlett laughed to the BBC.

"So of course you feel self conscious beforehand. But it actually allowed me to realise, and explore, what kind of judgements I had about myself, because I had to abandon those and see myself as a blank slate."

The movie is directed by filmmaker Jonathan Glazer, who Scarlett knew prior to shooting. She credits hers and Jonathan's similar mindset for making it such an appealing feature.

"You know there were several things that appealed to me. Of course I'm a fan... the opportunity to work with Jonathan Glazer was a huge... you know, was an attractive quality of this production. We've been talking for a few years before we actually collaborated to make it and so I think we had a kind of, had a sort of shared appreciation of one another artistically and we were having the same type of conversation about this film," she explained.

It was the unique character which drew Scarlett to the project too. The 29-year-old beauty found it exciting to embody such a carefree and reckless persona, who preys on hitchhikers in Scotland throughout the story.

"[Jonathan and I were] kind of curious about the same possibilities. And also I think the opportunity to play a character that really is kind of free of judgement and instinct and these things that make us all very human," Scarlett added.

"The opportunity to just sort of find a very present state, and clear and focused, you know, was a real challenge - in life, but certainly it's a challenge in work, and that was appealing."
