Manchester City have completed a 6-0 aggregate win over Romania's Steaua Bucharest to qualify for the Champions League group stages.

Following a 5-0 win away in the first leg last week, a 1-0 victory in tonight's second leg means the Premier League side cruise out of the playoff stage with ease.

Fabian Delph scored the only goal of the game on 56 minutes.

But it's also an end of an era for City with goalkeeper Joe Hart set to depart.

Pep Guardiola gave him a start and the captaincy with the England No 1 set to be replaced by Claudio Bravo, who is set to join from Barcelona.

Hart had been dropped by Guardiola for the first two games of the league season with long-time deputy Willy Caballero preferred amid concerns about Hart's ability with the ball at his feet.

In the other Champions League playoff ties, four-time European Cup champions Ajax were dumped out 5-2 on aggregate after a 4-1 defeat to Russia's FC Rostov tonight.

Borussia Monchengladbach also eased through after a 6-1 win over BSC Young Boys sealed a 9-2 aggregate win.
