Jason McAteer has released a statement regarding the way extracts of his book 'Blood, Sweat and McAteer: A Footballer's Story' have been interpreted in The Sun.
Thursday's edition of The Sun published a headline alluding to McAteer experiencing suicidal thoughts based on extracts from his book.

McAteer has since revealed on social media that he declined an interview request from the newspaper and clarified his position in a statement which he posted on his Twitter page.
