Australian World number one Jason Day has moved to the top of the leaderboard at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational after a second round 69 in Ohio.
Day is one of only two players in the field (along with Scott Piercy) to finish under-par in both rounds so far. He lies on -4, one shot clear of Daniel Lingmerth

Overnight leader William McGirt shot a second round 74 to move back to a tie for third place on -2. He is joined by Emiliano Grillo and Piercy.
Major winners Jordan Spieth and Adam Scott are both in contention to win at Firestone GC. They are both on -1. Scott already has experience of winning at the course. He was the Bridgestone champion in 2011.

Reigning champion Shane Lowry has moved up to a tie for 47th place. The Offaly native shot a second round of 72. He lies 12-shots behind Day ahead of the weekend.
