Irish number one men’s tennis player James McGee is just one step away from reaching the main draw at the US Open following a comeback win against India’s Yuki Bhambri on Thursday night.

McGee lost the first set of his three set match 5-7 but bounced back to take the final two sets 6-2 and 7-5.
Later today McGee will face China’s Ze Zhang with the winner going through to the open draw for the Flushing Meadows tournament.
