Donegal man Carl McHugh (bottom of pic) was a part of the Bradford City team that earned a famous aggregate semi-final win over Aston Villa last night to book their place in the Capital One Cup final at Wembley. Villa won the game 2-1 but a 3-1 win for Bradford at Valley Parade in the first leg proved to be enough to send the Yorkshire club through the final.

Having scored a goal in the first leg McHugh started last night for the League Two club as they subjected Aston Villas to possibly the most miserable night of an already agonising season.

The 19 year old centre back took a Donegal flag onto the pitch following the final whistle as the Bradford players celebrated with the fans. McHugh was speaking to reporters after the game and told them the clamour for cup final tickets was already underway, saying: “I never thought I’d see anything to top the All-Ireland but it comes close.”
