The 27-year-old's omission will prompt speculation that he will be considered by Ireland boss Joe Schmidt as a replacement against England on Sunday.

Isaac Boss will captain the side as Zane Kirchner continues at full-back. Gordon D'Arcy and Ben Te'o are once again selected in the centre.
