"Lots of people on TV, but nobody a Chelsea man: Carragher, Liverpool; Thompson, Liverpool; Redknapp, Liverpool. Lawrenson, Liverpool; Hansen, Liverpool. We don’t have one. When I retire, 75 years old, I go as a pundit to defend Chelsea on television."
Jose Mourinho was back to his old tricks again after Chelsea's 2 - 1 win over Liverpool in the Premier League yesterday, this time implying bias against his Blues team in the media.
Ex-Chelsea man Pat Nevin who is a pundit for us and the BBC reckons the Special One made his comments as a means of showing support to his own players.
But Nevin does think Mourinho has a point in the sense that players-turned-pundits can be biased in favour of their former clubs.
Nevin interviewed Mourinho recently and believes he has changed in some aspects, seeming "less arrogant" in style, perhaps because he does not need to impress his current squad in the way that he had to when he first joined the Blues.
But his views on Juan Mata and some other squad members have not changed one iota so Nevin expects Chelsea to look quite different when next season kicks off.
Nevin also touched on Arsenal's win over Newcastle which leaves them top of the Premier League heading into 2014 and the size of Liverpool's squad. Listen to the full interview with Pat via the podcast.
