Irish pair Ryan Seaton and Matt McGovern are into the Medal Race for the Men's 49er race at Rio 2016.

The duo won Race 12 this evening to eighth overall and significantly into the Top 10 for the medal race.

Unfortunately, fellow Irish pair Andrea Brewster and Saskia Tidey failed to qualify for the medal race.

A 12th place finish in Race 12 left them 12th overall and outside the Top 10.
