The Olympic Council of Ireland have confirmed that boxer Michael O'Reilly is out of the Rio Olympics.
The fighter, who had initially been part of Team Ireland's panel before his A sample tested positive for a banned substance, tonight admitted that he unintentionally took a supplement which may have contained a banned substance.
In a follow-up statement, the council that O'Reilly will not contest his provisional suspension.
"The OCI can today confirm that Michael O’Reilly is no longer contesting the provisional suspension imposed on him on the 4 August 2016 and will not compete for Team Ireland at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. No further communication will be made on the matter," they said.
