Ireland's Natalya Coyle and Arthur Lanigan O'Keeffe claimed gold at the Pentathlon World Cup in Florida on Sunday night.

The pair beat Katsiaryna Arol and Mikalai Hayanouski of Belarus to the top honour with a strong finish in the combined event, while Pavlo Tymoshchenko and Valeria Permyinka of Ukraine rounded out the podium.

For O'Keeffe, who ensured his place at the Olympics this summer in Rio de Janeiro with another gold at the European Championships, it was a great signal that the training to date is on the right track. Coyle is also hopeful of booking her spot at the Olympics in upcoming qualifying events.

It was a great weekend for Irish sport on the international stage too, as Irish brothers Paul and Gary O'Donovan claimed gold at the European Rowing Championships in Brandenburg, Germany.
