Ireland batsman Ed Joyce and bowler Tim Murtagh have retired from international Twenty20 cricket with immediate effect.

Joyce, the Sussex captain, has the highest T20 batting average for the country.

Both players want to concentrate on one-day internationals, as well as the possibility of Test cricket in the future.
