Ireland qualified for Euro 2016 in France next summer having defeated Bosnia 2-0 and 3-1 on aggregate over two legs.
Despite some doubts ahead of the two legs with Bosnia, Ireland were able to get an away goal last Friday and bring it home to Dublin on Monday night. They finished off the tie in emphatic fashion at the Aviva as France beckons for Martin O'Neill's squad.
Jon Walters was the man of the moment and proved he really is Ireland's trump card with his two goals but the overall performance from Ireland mixed with Martin O'Neill's tactics were more than enough to see Ireland over the line.
Randolph - 7
Not needed in much capacity but solid in everything he was asked to do as Bosnia pushed for a goal. He was commanding under the high ball and will be glad of the solidity that his center half pairing afforded to him. Has quietly gone about claiming the number one jersey with little or no doubt on that front.
Seamus Coleman - 7
Lively as always but was more intent on defending than he might have liked tonight. As always, however, he got forward when he could. Looks after the ball, plays like a player far beyond his years and rarely looks like he is under pressure. Another cool performance from Coleman.
Ciaran Clark - 8
Has gone from strength to strength in an Ireland shirt in recent times. He protected Randolph all night and did not allow Dzeko get involved in any facet of play. Still only 26, which is young for a central defender, and will have to get ready for the Richard Dunne comparisons in the coming days and weeks.
Richard Keogh - 8
Keogh was excellent in Bosnia on Friday and was on top form again tonight. Kept a world class striker like Dzeko quite for the bones of 90 minutes and has improved immensely since being brought into the squad by Martin O'Neill. Tougher tests await but Keogh was immense in the Aviva tonight.
Robbie Brady - 8
Brady is hit or miss with his delivery but his ball into Walters for the goal was sensational. He put it on a plate for Walters and you can get used to seeing plenty of replays for years to come. Deployed as a left-back tonight in place of Stephen Ward and never took a step backwards from the first whistle. He has proven himself extremely versatile in his performances recently.
Glenn Whelan - 8
Whelan bossed the centre of the park and did not allow Bosnia and their creative players influence the game in the slightest. Has taken a lot of slack recently but stood tall tonight.
James McCarthy - 7
Another Ireland player who has received his fair share of criticism in recent weeks and months. He has steadily improved and offers a consistent option and defensive shield for the players around him. Not always flashy but he doesn't need to be. One of his better games in an Ireland shirt to go with Friday's performance.
Jeff Hendrick - 7
Relatively quiet game from Hendrick as much of the play passed him by. Ireland were kicking the ball into the corners and chasing it down from there, rendering Hendrick moot. Tried extremely hard but tactics did not allow him get as involved as he might have liked.
Jon Walters - 9
Magnificent from the first minute to the last. He offered himself as an option every time Ireland were on the ball, he scored both of Ireland's goals and epitomizes the fighting spirit that has Ireland in this position.
Wes Holohan - 7
Substituted again for James McClean but had his typical influential affect on the game while he was on the field. Tactics may not have helped his style of play but kept Bosnia's defenders on his toes with his slick movement on the ball.
Daryl Murphy - 6
Typical hard-working performance from Murphy. Has been introduced to the Irish squad at a time that is not conducive to feeling his way into international football. These two games will stand to him and he tried hard tonight yet again.
Subsitutes
James McClean - 8
Despite getting a yellow within minutes of coming on, he added much needed energy to Ireland's attack and a counter-attacking threat that had Bosnians defenders questioning whether to attack or not. Like it or not, McClean is as effective as any Irish player coming off the bench.
Shane Long - 7
Long offered himself as he always does. Had one chance that he was unable to scoop over Begovic but was a constant thorn in Bosnia's side for the 35 minutes he was on the field. The Southampton player was missed in both games but played an important rule when he was introduced.
