Ireland’s season finished on a high, with a Fergus Mcfadden hat-trick laying the foundations for a 40-14 win over Canada, at BMO Field in Toronto.
Ireland scored six tries to move away from the memory of an unconvincing win against the US Eagles, in Houston last week. Despite the healthy final score the performance was not as dominant expected, with close to an hour spent battling through a tightly contested game against spirited, fired up hosts.
Darren Cave, Andrew Trimble and Tommy O’Donnell scored Ireland’s other tries.
