Ireland have been beaten 5-0 in their second group game in the Men's Olympic Hockey competition.

Having been beaten by India 3-2 in the group opener on Saturday, the Irish found themselves 2-0 down to a fearsome World No 2 Dutch side after the first quarter.

They also suffered a blow when Connor Harte had to be withdrawn due to a blow to the hip.

The Dutch were 4-0 by the end of the third quarter and an own goal by Eugene McGee as the Dutch counter-attacked then left five between the sides.

Next up for Ireland in Group B on Tuesday is Germany, who won their opening game and face India on Monday.
