The International Olympic Committee says a three-person panel will have the final say on which Russian athletes can compete at the Rio Olympics.

Around 100 have been banned over state-sponsored doping claims, but 250 have been cleared by their federations.

The IOC panel will now decide which of those 250 athletes can compete at the Games.

"The Review Panel is due to make a final decision in the coming days," according to the IOC.

The three-person panel is made up of president of World Archery and head of the IOC medical and scientific commission Ugur Erdener, the IOC athletes commission Claudia Bokel, and Spanish IOC member Juan Antonio Samaranch Jr.
