A feat worthy of livening up any game, never mind a routine pre-World Cup friendly crying out for something to lift the spirits.

England fan Blair Valentine pulled off this feat of world class paper plane throwing at Wembley last night, and it will spark admiration and envy in anyone who has ever attempted stationary aviation from the back of a classroom. For most of us a few feet of steady flight is a roaring success, but this throw went on, and on and met a perfect end.

The anticipation as the plane makes it down to field level, and the roar when it hits the Peruvian player, have the feeling of the most spontaneous outburst of emotion the stadium saw during England's 3-0 win.

You can see how ITV covered the paper plane’s intervention below, but to really get a grasp of how impressive the throw was you need to watch the video at the bottom to see the distance the plane travelled on the way to football sideshow immortality. Video includes added crowd excitement.
