Entering the Top 50 in the World Golf Rankings is as important symbolically as it is practically.

As Ireland's Shane Lowry will find out first hand next year, his achievement this year gives him a shot at the green jacket at the 2015 Masters.

With all that to look forward, the Offaly man spoke to Off The Ball's Joe Molloy about an important few months.

"I'm a new man. A lot has changed in the last couple of months - all for the good really. What a six weeks it has been. It's been some of the best golf I've played and some of the best times in my life," said Lowry, who also got engaged recently.

The 27-year-old also spoke about his schedule for next year in terms of the tournaments he is targeting on both the European and US Tour.

"I'll probably not play in Europe until next May," he said.

Lowry also opened up about the stresses of the period when his game was not at its best and how he coped.
