Ian Beach managed to grab an interview with Manchester City midfielder and Premier League champion Kevin De Bruyne following City's 0-0 draw at home to Huddersfield today.

When asked how the season went for the Citizens, De Bruyne was quick to say it's been one of the best sides he's ever been apart of.

“Well, it’s been unbelievable.

"I think the chemistry in the team has been the best I’ve ever had and you feel that on and off the pitch and it make it easier to play football together."

As the conversation moved to De Bruyne's World Cup plans, the Belgian told Beach that he had played 65 games this season. However, he feels he doesn't need a full rest ahead of Belgium's opening World Cup tie against Panama on June 18, telling Beach he's would be "easing into it".

"Well, to be fair, I’m quite easing into it because there’s a long preparation time.

"I think I’m going to have a week off where I can just relax a little bit because the season’s been hard.

"I’ve got four weeks to come into it; it’s a long time, so I just need to be ready for the first game in middle of June.”

With Yaya Toure also set to leave the Emirates this summer, De Bruyne was very complimentary to Beach about the Ivorian international, complementing the impact that he's had on the club and also on De Bruyne's playing style since his arrival in 2015.

“He was one of the players where it all started, the revolution.

"He’s done a lot of great games, he’s won so many things here and i think he deserves the biggest farewell game of everyone.

"I think so [on Yaya’s play impacting on De Bruyne]. Obviously when I came here he was a big part [of the squad], even this season he was a big part. He didn’t play that often but he’s still a massive player.

“Just the way that he performed all of his career is impressive.

"Everybody knows he’s a very easy guy, he relaxes a lot, he’s calm and he just tries to enjoy [it].”
