"I didnt even know there was a such thing as a Wooly Award" was the reaction from Mayo star Aidan O'Shea as he spoke to Off the Ball last night.

O'Shea scored 3-4 in the Connacht Championship Final against Sligo, and was the winner of The Wooly for Individual Performance of the Year. "I'd score the odd goal here and there but not a hat trick".

Dr Hyde Park was the venue for O'Shea's masterclass as Mayo defeated Sligo by 6-25 to 2-11.

The Breaffy man is also nominated for an All Star tonight in Dublin and is looking to win his second award after being named in the midfield in the 2013 team.

The 25-year-old is expected to be part of Joe Kernan's International Rules side for the Test Match later this month against Australia, and was part of the Breaffy side that lost the Mayo County Final last month.
