Brendan Hyland has broken the Irish Men's 200m Butterfly record on the opening night of the National Swimming Championships.
Hyland, who is based at the National Aquatic Centre, broke his previous record by almost 0.05 seconds when he touched the wall in a time of 1:58.68.
Hyland's 13-year-old team mate, Antoinette Neamt took Gold in both the 800m and 200m Freestyle.
Elsewhere, Andrew Meegan retained his men's 1,500 metre Freestyle title but missed out on achieving the qualifying time for the upcoming European Championships.
Clodagh Flood won the Women’s 200m Butterfly in a new personal best time while 2013 European medallist Barry Murphy and World University Games medallist Fiona Doyle secured the men’s and womenÂ’s 50m Breaststroke titles.
